Do you live an active lifestyle? On longer bike rides do you value saddle comfort? Then the ergonomic Ergon SF Men Sport Gel saddle should not be missing from your bike! Ergon’s new fitness saddle ensures that your cycling enjoyment is not clouded by saddle problems.
A perfect balance of sportiness and comfort, the Ergon Bikes SF Men Sport Gel Saddle distributes pressure evenly, which is an added bonus on longer rides. To avoid common male discomforts and numbness, the anatomically adapted relief channel in the center of the saddle removes pressure from the sensitive soft tissue areas. In addition, the shape and high-quality padding of the saddle are adapted to the position of the upper body during sporty cycling and provide optimum support for the sit bones.
Male pressure relief
The Ergon development team has done intensive research on men’s health. The main cause of discomfort for men when cycling is the saddle. High pressure on the extremely sensitive perineal area leads to feelings of numbness, among other things. The SF Men Sport Gel relieves the male perineum: with MRI and CT analyses, many prototypes and test riders, Ergon have ergonomically adapted the saddle to the anatomy and needs of male cyclists.
More free space for the legs
The male pelvis is less flexible than that of women. This means that men sit more upright on the saddle and put more strain on the sit bones. Therefore, the transition area between the rear of the saddle and the nose of the saddle can be kept narrow (Y-shape). This gives the legs more free space for pedaling.
The right saddle size
The shape and size of a saddle must fit the rider’s sit-bone width to avoid discomfort. That’s why Ergon offers the SF Men Sport Gel in two sizes. Since the pelvic bones taper forward in a v-shape, the saddle should always provide sufficient support surface for the sit bones in different sitting positions. The saddle widths are selected so that the usable area corresponds in each case to the sit bone distance and distributes the pressure optimally. The more forward a rider sits, the further forward the sit bones touch the saddle.
